A cute, charming tearoom in the Marais, La Tasse du Marais is located near Vieille Rue du Temple. Close to museums, trendy shops, and wholesale stores, it is a perfect place to stop and have a salad or a quiche for lunch or coffee and dessert in the afternoon.

She opened her establishment a year ago and it’s already very busy. The décor is very elegant, uncluttered, and warm. La Tasse du Marais is a very welcoming place.
Valerie took her time to choose the right chef with the knowledge and the creativity needed to meet her high expectations. She finally hired a young woman who had previously worked in a couple of Michelin-starred restaurants: Jardin des Sens, three Michelin stars in Montpellier, and Matthieu de Lauzun, two Michelin stars in Gignac. Valerie wanted only the best for her teahouse!

Although the place describes itself as a tearoom, you can order a delicious meal for lunch. I had the quiche of the day served with salad. My husband ordered the daily special: salmon and quinoa salad. Both were absolutely excellent and the chef didn’t skimp on the portions.

La Tasse du Marais offers a few organic wines by the glass and a choice of organic tea.
Under no circumstance should you skip dessert!

Valerie arrived at our table with a tray of five freshly baked pastries. Luckily they didn’t have more because they looked so good the choice was already difficult. The rum baba was very tempting, especially since I’m a big fan of this dessert! After hemming and hawing, I chose the lemon tart with meringue. Was it the best choice? I don’t know but it was definitely a great one! You could really taste the homemade crust. The lemon cream was tasty and neither too sweet nor lemony, and the meringue was so light that it was almost floating in the air. A true delight!
