€20 for an appetizer/entrée/dessert delicious lunch, in a very charming bistro in the middle of the 1st arrondissement – how could you not be happy? On top of that, you have two very nice looking guys welcoming you at Le Comptoir des Petits Champs with very friendly smiles!

I have gone to this restaurant many times, for both lunch and dinner, and I have always been very satisfied. Maybe once the Brie truffé was a bit disappointing but that was an exception. When I told the server that the dish was not up to the expectations, his reaction was very positive and he tried to fix the problem. He couldn’t do much but at least he made an effort!
The décor is very simple and very pleasant. The bistro-style tables and chairs are made of wood, comfortably spaced out, and the wood floor all combine to provide a very cozy atmosphere. At the back of the restaurant, there are windows that face the big impressive pillars of the entrance to the place du palais royal.
The menu changes regularly – 20€ for lunch and 27€ for dinner. Wine is not included in that price and certain items cost extra but that is still an incredibly low price for high-quality food.
The beet salad with feta cheese was very colorful and tasty. The ceviche was excellent. The fish melted in the mouth.

The sea bass filet on a bed of salad and pesto was delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection. The chicken was smeared with mustard “à l’ancienne” and served with baby potatoes and vegetables.

The dishes are quite simple but they are always very well presented and they have this little something that makes it special.
Le café gourmand had four little dishes; chocolate mousse, pineapple salad, Mango panna cotta, and a rum/raisin ice cream that is just to die for!

They have a fairly good selection of wine. The last time I went was for lunch, so I ordered a glass of rosé.
Le Comptoir des Petits Champs is a very friendly restaurant where you cannot help but be satisfied!
