Goût de Brioche!

6th arrondissement, In Paris, Markets, Paris, Pastry shop By March 28, 2016 Tags: , , , , , , 1 Comment

(Permanently closed)

I was walking in the streets of Saint-Germain-des-Près with my husband and my daughter, as I usually like to do on Saturday afternoons. Just strolling in the busy, narrow streets, where tourists and Parisians alike frequent art galleries, antique stores, bookstores, restaurants, cafés, bars…

The Hidden Life of Cheese at Alléosse!

17th arrondissement, In Paris, Markets, Paris By March 24, 2016 Tags: , , , , , , , , 1 Comment
Thank you to Inspirelle.com to have published my article in their March 17th édition.
At Alléosse, cheese is king in the beautiful store. Made of lightly colored wooden slats, the store’s décor is very elegant and highlights each cheese’s true value. Cow cheese, goat cheese, ewe cheese – no cheese is left behind. Like stars they shine, and like stars they mask a fascinating “behind-the-scenes” life.

Magokoro

$$, 9th arrondissement, Cuisine, Japanese, Paris, Price Range By March 21, 2016 Tags: , , , , , , 1 Comment
I’m in the mood to explore the Asian cuisine in Paris! My last blog was on Soon Grill, a Korean restaurant. This time it’s Japanese fusion-Hongkongese cuisine. The chef at Magokoro is half Japanese, half Hongkongese, and the service is led by a very pleasant woman from Hong Kong.

Paris is certainly one of the cities with the largest concentration of restaurants in the world. You can eat well, very well, badly, very badly, etc. You have all kinds of quality levels and prices. Most of the time it’s French cuisine, right? Okay, there are a few Italian and Lebanese restaurants as well.

Guido de Luca

$$$, 17th arrondissement, Cuisine, Italian, Paris, Price Range By March 7, 2016 Tags: , , , , , , 3 Comments
Guido de Luca is a surprising little Italian restaurant. Well established in the 17th, it has a simple but elegant decor with an unbelievable menu! The atmosphere is very pleasant and friendly. The owner, Romano De Luca, is a constant in the restaurant, taking good care of the clients, guiding them in their choices with professionalism, and always ready with an anecdote or a little story.

Harry’s New York Bar!

2nd arrondissement, Cocktails & Wine Bars, Paris By February 29, 2016 Tags: , , , , , , , , 1 Comment
Located at 5, rue Daunou 75002 or SANK ROO DOE NOO, Harry’s New York Bar, unlike its name would suggest, is one of the most famous bars in Paris. It is located in the 2nd arrondissement, very close to the Opéra Garnier. It is well known to be the birthplace of the famous Bloody Mary (1921), although to be fair there are multiple conflicting claims as to who really invented the Bloody Mary.
