It sometimes takes a song to make a cocktail famous.
Entering the third week of confinement in New York, I thought we might need a little cocktail to buck us up! Here is a recipe for a great Caipirinha!
The Cosmo – more officially known as the Cosmopolitan – was created around the 1980s, but gained popularity in the 1990s with the television series Sex and the city, an HBO classic for my ladies.
During my trip to Peru, I was subject to some strange effects: with the altitude, I had less appetite, and – believe it or not – my love for wine decreased in a maddening way! Fortunately, it was fully replaced by the Pisco Sour. It’s a refreshing and delicious cocktail, a mix of sourness, bitterness, and silkiness all in one: the perfect remedy for the Peruvian experience.

Located at 5, rue Daunou 75002 or SANK ROO DOE NOO, Harry’s New York Bar, unlike its name would suggest, is one of the most famous bars in Paris. It is located in the 2nd arrondissement, very close to the Opéra Garnier. It is well known to be the birthplace of the famous Bloody Mary (1921), although to be fair there are multiple conflicting claims as to who really invented the Bloody Mary.
Tarantula juice, monkey rum, panther sweat…These code words for alcohol beverages were used during the prohibition in the speakeasies to fool the law officials and government! We don’t have the prohibition anymore and Al Capone and his gang are long gone. But we still have some hidden establishments to spice up the outings.
With my girlfriends, we like to end our exhausting week with a nice and fun happy hour. We always want to change place but for some reason, we end up going to the same place each time. This time we decided to change for good!
