Eggplant is delicious and, on top of that, excellent for a healthy diet. They are high-fiber and low-calorie fruits known to reduce the risk of heart disease and help control sugar levels in the blood.
There are all kinds of beurek, burek, or börek, in the Middle East: meat beurek, cheese beurek, Armenian beurek, Turkish beurek, Lebanese beurek … I’m not sure exactly which beurek is this one, but let’s call it beurek for busy bees!

I am so behind with my blog posts and I have so many great restaurants I would like to share with you. Summer has absolutely flown by in the blink of an eye! I tried Damas during a visit to Montreal during Labor Day weekend. I still remember how we all left the restaurant so full we could hardly walk: it was quite funny!
On a recent trip to Paris, my friends and I went to the newly opened and very buzz-y Balagan, located at rue d’Alger, by the hotel Renaissance, in the 1st arrondissement.
This is not your typical Parisian establishment, and we loved it all the more as a result! Its excellent service and inventive cuisine do not take itself too seriously, and that’s exactly what Paris needed!
This is another vegetarian Lebanese dish with an olive oil base. It’s always a success. Easy to make and as it is a cold dish, you can prepare it in advance – even a day or two before.
Many of you have asked me where to go in Paris for a good Lebanese meal. Of course, there are many choices, and I haven’t tried them all for two reasons: first, there are too many to try, and second, my own Lebanese cuisine has its fans! 😀
