One day, a young man rode the subway from Morningside Heights all the way down to Soho (for those who are not familiar with Manhattan, this is about a 45min trip). He then walked to Rubirosa, ordered a take-out pizza, returned to the Upper West Side to surprise his sweetheart with her favorite pizza in NYC! Ah, l’amour!
Lunch with my son in one of the trendiest Indian restaurants in NYC – at least this was plan A. Unfortunately, it was fully booked, so we ended up in the cheapest Indian restaurant I have ever been to! How did that happen? I’m not sure, but we did not regret it at all!
Mak Kwai-pui, the former chef of a three Michelin-starred restaurant in Hong Kong, decided to open up with his partner chef Leung Fai Keung a 20-seat dim sum restaurant in Mongkok, a very busy neighborhood in Hong Kong – this restaurant was Tim Ho Wan.
By Chloe is a trendy, busy, 100% vegan restaurant, the kind we like to see sprouting up all over town.
Fresh lettuce and tomatoes, high quality meat, tasty cheeses, and a fancy and attractive burger are what you can expect at L’Artisan du Burger!
Two brothers, Oliver and Leo, traveled from California to the East coast and they had the biggest cultural shock ever in NYC! There were no real Taqueria (taco stalls) in NYC! Certainly not like the ones they loved in their native Northern California. Hence they decided to remedy this dramatic situation, and Dos Toros was born!
One of the great pleasures of being in Manhattan is being able to walk for hours with no particular goal, especially in some areas like Chinatown, where the streets are no longer denominated by street numbers and one can easily get lost. I love to stroll through this neighborhood and discover the Chinese grocery stores, fish markets, and local shops that populate the area. Chinatown in NYC is quite exotic!
Le Baron Rouge is one of my favorite wine bars in Paris. It is really unique – not sure who opened it and when, but it sure has been around for a while.

A cute, charming tearoom in the Marais, La Tasse du Marais is located near Vieille Rue du Temple. Close to museums, trendy shops, and wholesale stores, it is a perfect place to stop and have a salad or a quiche for lunch or coffee and dessert in the afternoon.
If you are in Paris, you just cannot skip a trip to the As of the falafel !!!
Whether you like falafels or not, it doesn’t matter, it’s the unavoidable experience of the Marais. You can buy it as takeout at the counter outside on the sidewalk or you can get a table inside. And for that, good luck my friend!!
