Many of you have asked me where to go in Paris for a good Lebanese meal. Of course, there are many choices, and I haven’t tried them all for two reasons: first, there are too many to try, and second, my own Lebanese cuisine has its fans! 😀
I’ve been to Rimal several times, especially for their Shawarma take out. I can’t certify that Rimal is THE best but I can assure you, you will not be disappointed.
Rimal has two take-out locations, one in the 17th on Bld Malsherbes, with which I am more familiar, and another location in the 8th on Georges V. There is also a restaurant at the intersection of Boulevard Malsherbes and Boulevard de Courcelles. The space is very pleasant, all bay windows, making it very bright during the day. Seating outside is also available – good luck with the noise of cars and motorcycles! Many Parisians prefer to sit outside so they can smoke; they prefer the noise than the nicotine withdrawal.
The service is always pleasant, the servers are very friendly, and they make everything to please you. They are true Lebanese!
Rimal has a fabulous choice of mezze, cold or warm: Warak Enab (vine leaf), hummus, moutabel (Baba ghanoush), Tabbouleh, burek, beef arayes, and much more. Several vegetarian dishes cooked in olive oil are also to be found on the menu: Moussaka’a, an eggplant-based dish, cauliflower, okra …
If you still have enough room to eat, don’t miss their grilled meats: beef, chicken, kafta (beef kebabs), lamb, fish, and quail. Each is served with its specific traditional Lebanese marinade. Hmm, I’m starting to get hungry!!
Lebanese wine is also available. Of course, it is nothing compared with French, Italian, or Spanish wine, but it’s good to give it a try.
I know the take-out place on the other side of the crossing very well. I have ordered the Shawurma sandwiches many times. It’s possible to stay and eat in but there is no wine available at the take-out location. Rimal take-out offers more than Shawurma sandwiches; it also has kafta sandwiches, sheesh kebab, and of course the usual mezze: tabbouleh, hummus, baba ghanoush, kebeh … They are really very good! The sandwiches are prepared in front of you, so if you think the servers are not generous enough with the sauce or vegetables, don’t hesitate to let them know, they will fix it right away.
I personally don’t like much their hummus, I prefer mine, and so does my family. Click here to have my recipe!
You can’t go wrong with Rimal! I’m 100% positive.

Rimal is indeed good, but not close to cooking a la Dina!
